March 16, 2021 I became a left AKA (above the knee amputee) after suffering complications from a blood clot in my right leg. An ecmo (life support) machine was placed on my left leg March 11th, causing circulation damage and remained in place through multiple surgeries until March 16th. Prior to this, I lived a healthy life with my husband and three children. I am early in this process with a lot to learn, but after finding there is not a central place to go for information, I decided to take on the challenge.
